Today I made a new investment after the good sale from yesterday. The stock I bought today is for dividends. I do have some of these stocks from before, and I have now increased my holdings. The stock is Fred. Olsen Energy ASA, FOE.OL. FOE is an international drilling contractor that operates in the mid- and ultra deep water segment. The company pays good dividends once a year, it is declared in may and paid in june. The reason that I invested in this now is that it recently started trading ex. dividend and the stock price has fallen also to 52-week low. I thought it was a good time to add some new stocks to my portfolio. I bought it at 164.90 NOK pr. share, and that’s quite cheap if one sees on historical prices. Comparing the dividends that will be paid at 20th June, a total of 20 NOK pr share, one can see that it has a good dividend yield.

This trade would not be the only dividend – paying stock that I would invest in. I would continue to invest in stocks that pays good dividends to ensure a stable income in the further, and not only relying to get the good trades each time. More on this strategy will come in other postings, and in the trading strategies page.
